I was diagnosed 32 days ago and hv not had a follow- up yet to discuss all test results. I had 6 biopsies done of suspicious ateas including 2 labia miora, 1 introitus, 1 perenium, and one up near my clit. Does anyone know the difference between VIN -vulvular interepitherial necrosis and LS?  I meet with Dr to discuss written report Fri July 20 and see my gyno Tiesday July 24 to check architecture and discuss specialist. They are booked 4-5 months out and I’m hoping she can pull strings....

They can't scare you death anymore than they have. One step at a time . What are your symptoms. Know it will seem to be a eternity before July 20 th. Did they explain why so many biopsys? We're here for you

I say Dr Early May and then again June 5 for itching, intense clitoral pain, white patches that become all ulcetated. Felt like burning gasoline each time I peed. After appt June 5, I went back next morning June 6, and she took six samples from didferent areas that were irritated. A NURSE called me on my way to the airport June 11 and said “good news, no cancer”. So I said “ what is it then and she said “I don’t know”. I told her to read me the report over the phone and it said LS. No treatment instructions, no firther information! Thank god I found this forum while on vacation and got my symptoms under control. I meet with Dr on 20th to go over report, but how do they know if is LS or VIN or both??

That's a lot already!! I had one biopsy, came back abnormal. See the Gynecologist Oncologist on Tueday to discuss results and see what the plan is. Had the biopsy on June 5th. I am just 14 months in complete remission from Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, so they watch me closely, and my Oncologist helped get me a referral to the GYN Oncologist. It's just crazy.

Hi Karen, the VIN is a pre Cancer condition which can be removed if positive and is usually followed by continued 6monthly check ups. I had a biopsy for this earlier this year and was fortunate to be diagnosed with LS changes with ulceration. At the time of the biopsy the suspect area was removed. I am sure that if VIN is diagnosed you will get prompt treatment. If you are in the UK this should be within a few weeks.Hope this helps. I feel for you and hope that you will keep in touch.

Thanks for posting this!! I have LS and lesions found in 2014, was scheduled to have them removed on Nov 14 of that year, during my pre-op for it, on Nov 13, they found a large mass in my thyroid, so, that turned into number 1 priority. It was very aggressive NHL.. 2 weeks after treatment, went to GYN to follow up, she forgot to check, and said...oh well, I didn't see anything, real professional of her, that was in 2015. So, I saw the Urologist w this year, who said...oh no, lesions. The GYN Oncologist took a biopsy, one was about to cover my uretha, she removed that one. Said Atypical something...big word...dysplasia...more words. Go on Tuesday. Don't know what to think??

Hi Karen,  I thought I had  LS ,but mine turned out to be VIN, I had biopsy done, they told me I had pre cancerous cells which needed to be removed, last july  I had the operation to remove my labia on both sides, and everything was good after the operation, no sign of cancer, I have to go every 6 months to check the vin hasn't returned, are you in the uk ?

No, I am in the USA.  There is a 4-5 month wait for vulvular Specialist and I am afraid my gyno won’t know anything other than what she reads in a textbook....
