Shaida, have you had x-rays that show the lump is arthritis?  Have you seen a surgeon and what exactly have they offered to do?  Have you tried a TENS machine fr the sciatica?  There seems to be more than one issue here?

    Hi Shaida,

I really think you should get a referral to Orthopaedics & Trauma, have a specialist look at the knee. You may need an MRI. You need someone who knows, to do the tests & give you options.

Can't offer any other advice I'm afraid as I am not medically trained & I don't want to exacerbate any problem you have.

If you do go, let us know how you get on. There is always someone on here with a sympathetic ear who will reply if they can.

    All the best

It could be a Bakwrs cyst. What does your physician recommend?

It sounds what I have but not with lump on knee. Though I have all other symptoms as you do & I can not walk without the assistance of a walker or canes which my joint is in pain & weak.this has been going on now close to a year now & unable to do my job.I have tryed therapy doesnt help only makes tjings worse off...the only thing I can do is push myself to walk with walker or both my canes at same time walking on egg shells being my knee wants to way & hit with pain...I have nerve issues going on from back slipped disc..sciatica pinched nerve that is causing leg to have nervousness running down entire leg not easy at all every day is a big challenge...try to just keep moving when need to use a cane/canes or walker to get around you dont want to let all your body weight bear down on your bad knee will only make it worse as I have learned...I pray you recover soon..God bless
