Lump in throat feeling

I am at my wits end here.

It started back in September when I went to see the GP with nausea and a disgusting taste I kept getting when I yawned or swallowed (although sometimes I just got it anyway). He put me on PPIs for a month. This got rid of the nausea but not the disgusting taste.

I went back again but saw someone different. I explained the nausea had gone but I now have this disgusting taste and a feeling of a lump in my throat, she advised me to stop using mouthwash and that it would go on its own.

I then had a bad toothache, went to dentist and she gave me antibiotics for a week. These got rid of the horrible taste completely but still left with the throat problem.

No the throat thing hasn’t gone away so I went back again to another GP and she looked in my throat, felt all my neck and couldn’t find anything but she has now referred me to the ENT department for checks (which could be another long wait). I am really worried that they will find something horrible.

Has anyone else had this?

I've got a feeling of a lump in my throat. The only way I can describe it is like having an oat stuck at the very back of my mouth/throat. My GP has been useless. I've been back twice. Each time he said he can't see or feel anything but has refused to refer me to ENT as he thinks it might all be in my head... A condition called Globus Pharyngeus. However I've now had a sore throat and cough for 2 weeks and I have a burning sensation when I burp so I'm thinking that it might be silent reflux and that this is causing the globus. I think perhaps that's what you had with the reflux, the bad taste was your tooth and now you've been left with globus from the stress of it all.
