Lump on tongue

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have a small lump on my tongue and some red patches.

The GP thinks the lump  will clear up and is not concerned with the red patches.

However, she said that if the lump  does not disappear that I should visit a dentist. Is this really the best advice for a tongue problem

Well, don't wait for it to disappear.  That's terrible advice!  Go see your dentist as soon as you can, so that the dentist can get a good look at the lump and the red patches.  Best of luck to you.

Well. The lesion is reducing and is now very small.

I am optimistic that it will heal.

If not, I will have to ask a dentist for advice. Since I do not have a dentist I will need to arrange to see an NHS dentist who will be prepared to give an opinion rather that a teeth inspection followed by dental advice. I wonder if charges are levied for a diagnosis?
