Hello everyone,
How normal is it to have lumps after hemorroidectomy? And how long after shiuld they be gone ?
Its been 3 weeks since mine and I have 2 lumps that do not seem to be getting any smaller...
Anyone else with this problem? Im afraid ill have to go through the whole process again

Hi, yes I also have 2 lumps and have the same concern as you, 4 weeks post OP. They did get smaller and less sore the first two weeks but these last two weeks barely any shrinkage. I've read that it can take time, several months or even up to year and often leave a skintag, but I wouldn't mind that atm, just want the lumps to stop aching/swell after every BM, days without are pretty good, just slightly uncomfy to sit. Guess it is the swelling from inside that continues to the outside since it swells up after BM, at least I hope so...I am going to wait another week or two and then call my surgeon, haven't had any follow up and they told me that they usually never do follow ups on such minor surgical procedures(Minor, yeah right, lol).

Hey, have you seen any improvement? All i know is that the are doesnt look normal at all!

It's somewhat hard to say as the healing is so tricky, varies so much day to day, but it is starting to feel and seem like they're getting smaller now. Yep, understand what you mean because the lumps covers the area, haven't seen the outside of my "normal" anus since before the surgery, lol 😄

well im glad that you are doing better, in just going to take it easy and go have them removed in 2 weeks if they are still there.

from what I've read, it seems to happen frequently...I have 2...painless, don't swell, probably skin tags...but it is annoying to me given along have gone through to recover.

i spoke to my doctor on an appointment about 10 days after surgery and i was advised that if a month after i still have the lumps or skin tags, then they could be easily removed and i would be able to go home same day. That was like 2 weeks ago and seems like ill have to go get them removed

yes, I was told that too...surgery rwcovery was so difficult, I havnt done that yet...
