Lumps on cervix on smear test. HPV but no abnormal cells. Advice please

so i had my regular smear test 3 years ago last one i think) all my smears have been normal but ghis was came back with HPV but states calls were checked and no call changes. the smear itself was fine except the nurse made a strange sound when i laid down and said she founds some lumps on my cervix and did some swabs, she asked me about my partner etc and sexual activity ! i explained i have been married 25 years and have only had sex with my husband. i take it she felt i may have a infection of some aort down there but swabs came back clear. she told me to make appointment with my GP regardless of results which i have in a couple of days. i have had a look my self and on the inside opening it just looks like loads of lumps, they are smooth and normal jn colour. i am now fearing cancer of course. can you have no cell changes but still have cancer? could it be warts? if so will they get worse over time? have my hisband cheated? i know the GP is the inky one to give me the answers but wondered if anyone had some advice in the meantime? i am 45 and very peri menopausal. i get lower back pain on and off and always had lots of lower atomach pain on and off which GP says is IBS. i just want to scream !!
