Lung Cancer

My mother in law had a chest xra y she is a smoker has been for many years now her nurse practitioner calls her and tells her that her chest xra y showed it is stable what does this mean anyone know I never heard of that does it mean she has cancer?

    normally a stable x-ray means everything is ok. has she been diagnosed with cancer or anything else chest wise?

      There was a chest xra y cause they found a mass in her lung and then her nurse practitioner called yesterday and told her it was stable she needs to be seeing a lung doctor she has COPD.
