Lustral the beginning symptoms

Hi Folks. ...

I am pretty new to this Forum and have found some of the reviews really intresting to read everyone's story's and experinces of Lustral.

I was prescribed Lustral 50mg last Friday due to feeling on constant high alert and pretty stressed out...I have never been on Anti Deppresants before and was just wondering how it made everyone else feel initially..feel pretty Groggy to be fair...Appetite is horendous and feel pretty Dizzy and Nauseas which normally sorts itself out with a dry heave.i feel like I can't be bothered getting out of bed and walking about outside only raises the anxiety..I know it's only 6 days in ...but surely I am not the only one that feels like this...I'm hoping that when people say that if your anxiety raises the Anti deppresants is working....

But why do these Anti Deppresants feel like they take you down and make you feel more anxious...hopefully it chills out soon.

Thankyou Folks.

    Hi Geoff

Your side effects are completely normal. Generally each person is slightly different but you've mentioned the more common ones. I'm now 6 weeks on 50mg and the first few weeks were awful. High anxiety, no appetite, nausea, insomnia and headaches. However each week that passes I noticed I'd have one good day, then two, then three.

Even now I still have bad days but compared to where I started off all I can say is stick with it. I only have the odd bout of anxiety now and the odd headache and I'm confident that these will subside also as time progresses!

Stick with it! Try and stay as positive as you can! this forum is great, it's been a great source of info for me and I've made some great friends on here who are going through similar things to myself.

    Hi,

I am happy u started ur treatment at early stage.

It might not be easy at the beginning of taking Sertrsline, but pkease dont give up and keep on taking them. This forum helped and still is helping me a lot. But not every person has the same reaction and goes through a standard sideeffect. So just stay pisitive and wait at least 3-4 weeks. Some Drs change the pills in case of no positive reactions. All u have to know, is that IS gonna b all good soonner or later.

    Good luck

Hi ya Geoff,,,Im on Lustral 4 weeks ,, Yeah I found the same thing. Very anxious , insomnia, fretting , all the usual traits and got worse before feeling better Took me over 2 weeks for things to settle ... Your brain receptors are getting used to seratonin again and after being asleep for a period they are now reacting to the levels.. I'm no expert but what you're going through seems to be normal ... Best of luck
