Lychen Planus versus Lychen Sclerosus

Posted , 9 users are following.

I have just come back from a dermatologist!  She told me to ditch the douching and the coconut oil.  I have lotion to put on and a different cream and not CLOB.  I have lychen planus she said in my private area with a rash near.  I mustn't have stress and I am also severely anxious.  She recommends I go back on HRT and also that I see a psycho therapist!  Sigh!  This is the first day of the rest of my life........

I must get better now!

I have taken proper steps.

    Hi Powerwoman

I had a biopsy and was told it is LS.  But when I read reviews it said LS/LP can't be told apart from a biopsy.  I do not have a lot confidence in the Doctor that did the biopsy.  The while patch first was towards the perenium.  That seem to clear up and just be red. Now I have some small white patched at base of vagina and inside the labia majora at the base of the fold and tip of labia minora just some white dots

does it itch or is it painful?

      Mine is extremely painful?

No not really painful. Maybe a bit of burning but mostly the Itch is the aggravating part.  I think I might also have a hemmeroid which might also be causing the itch.  The only thing that seems to help the itch is if I give in and scrach it (which I know is bad).  Have a bit of blood when I wipe too much after a bowel movement

I just starting using the Clob yesterday.  The spots on the labia were new. I will watch to see if they move.  I also used the Clob around the anus area which is my most itchy and annoying but got a lot of burning.  Others have told me not to use it there. I now just used Penatin (baby bum cream) on the bum/anal area and still got the burning and itch.  Damm.  I guess I am just going to have to see what works by trial and error.  I am really worred about apply the Clob incorrectly

      Hi Sue

I was told by a specialist to use the Clob on the annus area too.

The specialist today said you had to use the cream for 2 months without reducing it.  Use only a very small amount once daily.  Be careful as my hair is thinning because of this!   God knows what the new medicine will do!  Have you got a special moisturiser for the area?  I could let you know what I have?

      Hi Powerwoman

I will try the Clob again today on the anus area as I guess I should give it a chance since everything seems to sting.  I am using Coconut Oil as a moisturiser.  Seems to work good for me.  I also have a cream I ordered online called Perrin's.  Got the Perrin's before I got fully diagnosed as I had no relief.  Pretty stinky cream and seemed to work at first but now not sure.  The baking soda bath with 1/3 of BS seems to calm things down for me.

Coconut oil doesn't work for me.  I have Doublebase Daylev Gel which seems to work ok.  I think its a trial and error game.

Let me know how you get on with clob ointment.  Regards. Jan x

Hi all I'm in Scotland. Been told never to douche as this in itself can upset the good bacteria in your vagina which according to my GP is self cleaning

I am finding trial and error is the way forward as I am now free of itching and down to Clob twice a week purely for maintenance and coconut oil to keep me moisturised morning after shower and again after my shower in the evening. I have cut out sugar and that's worked too. Oh and I use no soap down there to wash just Aquasol cream and rinse with water. I know not all of this works for everyone but just thought I'd mention ....

I suffer significant anal itching from time to time. I have a weaker steroid and I do use it in Anal area with good success. Could you ask for a weaker steroid?

Good idea.  I have a weaker one so I will start with that first and then progress if I have to

Hi, sorry to hear that you have LS down below, that is a blow, but at least now you know for sure, Lynne that posts on here has the same.

I agree with her regarding the douching, I don't think that is a good idea for anyone.  You will improve over time, everyone does, but it is stressful, no doubt, but we are here for you x

    Hello

It's great that there are people out there to talk to about this as it is so distressing!  Thank you all.

Does anyone use Aloe Vera gel?  If so, is it just for relief of the burning?

I tried it for relief of itch but eventually found it irritating. I do sometimes rub it on during a shower almost like one would use soap if you could!smile and then rinse it off. I like the effect that has but a number of us have found it irritating when applying straight and frequently. My feel is that it will only make you experience more burning.
