lymph nodes

I am on what I believe to be the end stages of my first hsv2 ob. Most of the broken skin is healing. But there are two places that are healing very slowly and movement causes excruciating pain. Last night I noticed a knot on my wrist.  I know this has to be a swollen lymph node. But isn't the timing off on thst? Shouldn't that have been one of the first symptoms?

My daughter hasn't got ton any flu like symptoms or lymph nodes...no fever , just a bright red rash and feeling of a uti that made me think yeast infection , so I got her the one day monistate suppository and it caused her blisters to form on her valva... The ER doctor said there where no lesions inside or around the cervix .   He also said if her test comes back negative she may need another test.   Why would he say that?

I didn't get swollen lymph nodes in my groin until the second week during my ob. Your body is still fighting it and trying to surpress it, so I'm not surprised hearing that.

I haven't gotten any in my groin or anywhere else for that matter. Just my wrist.  That doesn't seem odd?

Well, you're assuming that - that us being caused by hsv really, so it could be something else and just a coincidence. However, I've hears people say they got swollen lymph nodes all over during the primary ob. I will say I put nothing past hsv and I think it does a lot more than the medical community knows, based on research and case studies I've read. A few weeks ago I was running on the treadmill, I was probably a week n half out fromy starting my cycle, so chest was not sore yet. Anyway, all of a suddenly. I notice a burning sensation behind my nipples going straight to my back. The burning sensation was exactly what I felt in my butrock and back of legs during my first ob.. Like a million fire ants biting me at once under my skin. I eventually had to stop running and shortly after I stopped, the pain sunsided. I know that was nerve pain and that happened in a very strange place.. I believe hsv caused it since it sits at the base of my spine.

I'm just ready for some relief from this nightmare. This is going into my third week. If this is what I have to look forward to, kill me now.

Well what pain are you having and where? You've been very ambiguous w your description of your in and I can better help you, if you give me more detail. It does get better, I do promise I had a horrendous ob too and had to go to the ER from my neuropathy being so bad and was on terrible nerve pain drugs for a month. Trust me.. It gets better. Everyone thinks like that when they first get an ob. You feel like it's never going to end and that they'll all be like this. I take daily suppressive therapy and still get a mild ob every month, because of my hormones during my cycle and if I forget my meds and go out drinking sugary drinks till late. I have an itch or the crawly feeling randomly most days, by it the sores song ever hurt me. I'm not sure if it would be different not on meds and be painful, but while on daily meds I can exercise and move like I don't have an ob. I sometimes get a pins and needles feeling at my tailbone too. But you won't feel this bad w your other obs

Most of my pain now is from two open sores tjat seem to be healing very slowly. Movement is hindering the healing. I feel like every time I move I pull it back open. I do still get a shooting pain through my testicles,  or actually to be more exact, my right testicle. There is no more itching. And no more fever. I never had any swollen lymph nodes until my wrist. I really don't get that. I've been on Valtrex 3 times a day and Bactrim 2 a day. I also take a vitamin c pill and 3000 mg of lysine a day. Thats in addition to my regular diabetes meds. I want to add that every symptom has occurred on my right. I just think that its weird that it seems to stay on one side.

Yes, did you get tested? Herpes zoster usually sticks to one side, but I doubt that's what it is and if you haven't been tested, I highly recommend you do. Yeah that shooting pain I had along w the neuropathy. I had it to my feet, in my rectum, in my vagina, random locations, but mainly to the sores location. That will go away as your ob goes away.  Your nerves are inflamed by the virus. If it doesn't go away, you'll get put on neurontin like I did probably and that helped so much, cause I couldn't even sit up for two weeks practically. The fact that you have a disorder that compromises your immune system just like I do, leads me to suspect we feel more nerve pain after contracting herpes than the average person.

Oh.. And I would apply vaseline to cover your sores to prevent the sticking problem. It'll take a way a lot of the pain and no it doesn't slow down your healing of the sores. Conventional wisdom states if you have am open wound, drying it out creates the fastest healing or w any blister, but this isn't a regular wound that happened from an external source breakinf the skin. Sores develop when the virus enters the cell nuclei and for some reason the nuclei in some people explodes when the virus enters it. Notice no mark is left after it heals all the way? That's because its not a regular type of damage to the skin.. So I found that it just causes unnecessary pain to not put Vaseline on them to help w friction

Herpes zoster is kind of what I was thinking.  Thats shingles right? Blood test was negative.  But then again it would be negative if I had not developed antibodies at the time of testing. If I were to take that test again now that I've had an ob, it should test positive if I have hsv2, correct?

Well, beat practice is to wait 3 months. I tested negative in blood the first week for hsv, positive from a swab, but took another round of std tests 3 months later and I came up positive for herpes that time in my blood.  You're likely going to get shingles else where on your body and not there. Think back to when you had chicken pox, I never got it on my genitals. I would wait at least another month after your ob to get tested.
