I think it's the kind of thing that can flare up and settle down at different times Sam, I went through different phases where it felt worse than others, that can be normal I think during mono. So I think it can be normal maybe to feel different symptoms at different times during the different phases of the virus.

    Hi Sam,

I was diagnosed 2 years ago and while most of my symptoms are gone, my neck pain has been the 1 constant side affect that still comes and goes. All my neck pain has been in the back of my neck, not the front. I noticed if I am tired or stressed is when it creeps back up. It has been the toughest 2 years of my life. Horrible, I wouldn't wish this on anyone...

      Hi Jennifer,

Hoping so much that this neck pain subsides and settles down, goodness knows you must be weary of that after two years. I just want to offer some hope and encouragement that with one particular lymph node in my neck, the pain with that lingered even after I started to feel much better, but it did settle down completely with some time - it can be one of the most stubborn symptoms to get rid of and can be common even after 2 years. I was the same in that I just noticed it after a while when feeling a bit run down or under the weather or fighting a cold or something like that.

But things will improve and let me tell you Jennifer, even though like you I was feeling generally a lot better after 2 years, I felt even better after 3 years so things will continue to improve for you until you reach the stage where you just feel normal and fully well again - hang in there!
