Anyway, wait for my first reply to be approved, but in short, science does not back up lysine supplements or any special HSV diet.

I get lot of pelvis/abdo pain, headaches and sore/burning vulva everyday, and blisters on and off, any comments re this. I am a 64 yr old lady.
Is there anyone else out there with my symptoms?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

And, I have to feel like I'm doing something, not nothing....

By the way, in case you are already eating a lysine-rich diet and also taking a lysine supplement, take care not to overdo it. Too much lysine apparently isn't so good for you.

Besides lysine, read up on that bee resin I noted above. That *has* had success in studies (albeit with mice, but better than a test tube or petri dish!), plus it's all natural. Can be used topically or orally. That interests me more, tbh.

Have you heard of older women with hsv2 having sympoms like mine, daily headaches, vulva and abdo/pelvis pain? Still no antibodies either after contracting the virus nearly 12 months ago. I have to take vaclovir on a daily basis, if I take any less than 1000mg, it flares up again.
Is there anyone else out there with my symptoms?

For expert advice, you can submit questions to Terri Warren at Westover Heights. WH is a reputable STD clinic in the US and Terri has a lot of experience specifically with HSV. There is a nominal fee for questions, but she will answer you directly via the Q&A forum. Perhaps you could seek her expert advice?

You can also try applying diluted tea tree oil all over your private parts to provide soothing relief from any itching. Also, soaking in Epsom bath salts is highly recommended by many here. Not tried it myself yet.
