M.E. suggested but I'm not so sure as such a variety of symptoms with fatigue at manageable level.

Excuse the long post but desperately seaking answers or advice.
Over two years ago at work I came over very funny, spaced out, dizzy, heart racing and feeling sick. Felt so awful I was taken to a&e where they did ecg and checked blood sugar and sent me on my way to follow up with GP. Looking back im trying to find a 'trigger'. I did have laringitis for two weeks before this episode and although lost voice i felt well in myself and never went to doctor. The evening before this episode I also had an extremely heavy period (unusually so).
Anyway since then I have had numerous flare ups and wide variety of symptoms. It seems to have become more frequant to the point i have more bad days than good now. My current symptoms are:
Nausea (heaving over toilet but never actually vomit)
Feeling of low blood presssure/low blood sugar
Feeling spaced out/faint
Ectopic heart beats/palpatations
Heavy periods
Sensation in throat like tight /lump like feeling
Flu like aches and heavy limbs
Shakiness/shiver all over
Anxious/panicky feeling even when home and 'relaxing'
Noisy belly and get bad period cramps
Hormonal/pms and no sex drive
Lost weight and off food -worse during ovulation
I've had an array of tests including mri of head, endoscopy, abdominal ct scan, and a range of blood tests includining full blood, check for inflammation, thyroid, celiac disease, Lyme disease and short sycathen test. Also had 48 hour holter and echocardiogram, and my throat checked by ert consultant. Everything coming back as normal apart from ferratin which is low but not anemic.they've also suggested reflux.
I have also had episodes I can only describe as hellish where I feel I'm literally dying..tight chest and sick and heavy woozy head and racing heart where I feel my body is shutting down. It can be so scary and my friend has rushed my to a&e after witnessing an episode.
I'm awaiting a referral to an endocrinology specialist and a trans vaginal scan to check if anything untoward going on with periods and ive seen a few doctors who are all a bit stumped. Only things that have been suggested are getting my iron levels up, that it could be IBS, M.E., Fybromyalgia but no one seems to think there's anything else to look at. I keep thinking something has been missed as feel so awful. Been quite open to them suggesting I'm now quite Anxious about my health which I am, but feel it's a symptom rather than cause of everything else as often just out of the blue feel completely drained and physically unwell and just display physical symptoms. Could these episode be panic attacks? There doesn't seem to be a trigger it can happen out of the blue even when enjoying myself. I still work and see friends and try everything to try to get on as normal but it's a constant battle to ignore symptoms.
Meds I'm currently on are propanalol (beta blocker 40mg), ferrous funerate iron supplements, omoprazol (for possible reflux)
My family and my life are being affected..I have a young child and am desperate to be the fun loving energy fuelled mum I once was.
Anyone else going through this? I know it's not all in my head

IT is not all in your head!! I have similar symptoms to yours, did all the work up you did, I have too been dealing with a difficult diagnosis, my doctor has told me he ca not help me no more, I too am on beta blockers for fast racing heart and palps. I am going to see an heamatologist Friday since I lost weight and my red blood cells and hemocrit were slightly high. In a month I will be seeing a endocrinologist too as my thyroid level was just slightly high. My doc thinks it's all in my head and stress anxiety is the culprit, I was never like this 1.5 years ago, I became anxious and depressed because I feel sick and fatigued and no doctor can figure out what's going on!! Who wouldn't?!?! Keep pushing for answers you know your body better than anyone!!

I have had most of those problems. At 19 had most of my Thyroid removed that was in 1963. I had pulpatations lost weight and was really hyper at 15 and was treated for Nervous Neuroses till one night I was so wound up I went and was seen by another Dr. who said my pulse etc was dangerously high. He made appointment to see consultant and six weeks later was in Hospital. Total bed rest to lower pulse with doses of I think Iodene but pulse was still well over 72 but had op.
Now in my 70's And years of all these problems like you, and most meds like Methatrexate, MST etc upset my blood counts or make sick? Now I settle for Iboprofin ,tramodol, Hydroxychloroquine, CoCodamol, Thyroxin, blood pressure meds.
to date Iv'e been diagnosed with Lupus, Fybromyalgia, Sjogrens, Spondylitis,
twice in resent years been admitted to hospital with Sepsis due to Urinary infections and an underlying infection which hasn't been found.
I also had very heavy periods but didn't have it investigated as I wasn't keen on having an Hystarectomy!
Sorry to go on but we don't get much sympathy as most of the time we look well but inside your body is having a job to function!

Oh dear EJO I recognize much of this, and I am truly sorry for your nightmare..That does not mean it is ME, could possibly be that (since it started after your infection which happens to many) but could be one of other hard to diagnose illnesses. No, I do not think it is in your head either, and being anxious when all this happens to you is of course normal, but they might try to hang it on that, lacking other explanations.
I am told that panic attacks do happen out of the blue - trigger not easy to find, and it is possble that you have something like that as a result of your health going upside down like this.
Only advice I can give is IF it is ME, you should not try to 'go on as normal', but should try to cut down on activities as best you can, and try to find a way to rest, to find a way to stop your body from panicking when you do. Gentle music, Valerian, slow breathing down into the stomach, maybe soothing oils in a oil burner. Rest is the most vital remedy with ME.
I do hope things will get easier for you, do not hesitate to write again here if that helps, as often as you want. Good luck!

Hi there,
My trigger was a car collision, I get alot of your symptoms but already had cardiac arrhythmia so unsure if it's just that when heart races. My friend with CFS/me had a virus that triggered theirs and has the same issues as you re tight chest, breathing, palpitations, feeling like something stuck in throat and reflux. Both of us have differing IBS symptoms- mine since the crash but they had some before this. They have nearly collapsed when out in town and I ''ve witnessed how they struggle to breath sometimes , it can be really scary and as my symptoms aren't as bad in that department, I feel lucky. But my walking and moving about is worse than theirs which they said they wouldn't like. All tests on us both have come back with no abnormalities (endoscopy, bloods, MRI and EKG) apart from they had bit D and iron deficiency for a while which is back to normal now.
Two nights ago I woke and went to the bathroom and then felt like you, out of the blue anxious. No trigger to it, just my body not feeling OK and a need to be comforted but nothing was wrong! It's a strange condition.
Resting is the main thing. Even when you're not having a bad day. Are you in the UK? You can be referred to a CFS/me specialist service if you are.
Hope that helps
