Maca for perimenopause symptoms

hello wonderful ladies.... I am reaching out to you for your help... has anyone tried maca for perimenopause symptoms? I have been dealing with perimenopause symptoms for few months now. Tried taking hormones but didn't help. I have anxiety, insomnia, ear ringing from all the anxiety, sometimes dizziness imbalance. also feeling down especially close to my period. I'm wondering if any of you have taken maca, did it help with your symptoms? please share your experience. thank you all.

    I forgot to add tension headaches, really bad ones.

      hi ampat1, I tried maca over 40 by mega food last year...only for about a month. I saw no difference. I graduated from tension headaches to migraines in peri. some natural type products bring them on for me. If you take any meds, just make sure nothing interacts with the ingredients. otherwise, it doesn't hurt to try!

    Never tried Maca, but a Black cohosh supplement worked for me for quite a while. One by Spring Valley worked, until I couldn't get it here in Oklahoma anymore.

    I use it very sparingly when I feel particularly symptomatic although I don't know if it does anything for me. Be very careful and do your research about maca. Two reasons: it must be NOT be the raw kind but cooked or roasted which removes the toxins. Many people have become ill using the raw. Second, men who weight train use maca to gain weight, and I don't think any woman wants that, especially us! I've seen comments from women who say they gained weight immediately when taking it daily. And it can mess with your thyroid. Like many "superfoods", adverse effects may outweigh any benefits.
