my son had to do a report on this for school so I learned some things.

not sure where you live but only six cows with BSE have been found in the US. so the likelihood of you getting it if you live here is extremely low. meat from the carcass of the cow is low risk and its not known to be in the muscle tissue, which is what the sausages and salami are made from. BSE test involve taking samples from the brain of the dead animal to see if it’s present. they also remove specific risk tissues in an animal from human food. this has been going on since 2004. also the vast majority of cases worldwide have been in older adults not young people. they have a very good handle on it.

The odds of getting this are extremely low! We are more apt to get any other health condition or disease out there before we would get this.

So I would say you are very safe! you can sleep easy.

Please read the book called "Animal Pharm: One Man's Struggle to Discover the Truth about Mad Cow Disease and Variant CJD" by Mark Purdey. It will relieve your fears about this. I had a fixation on this for years and did a ton of research. I found this book written by a man that did years of research and I think he is spot on about the truth of this disease. I couldn't put it down.
