Male, 19, hard lump under collarbone

Hi,

I'm 19 and male, and I know it's probably nothing but I felt a little bump under my collar. It's about an inch to the left of my sternum and two inches beneath the collarbone. I get harmless little lumps all the time so I normally wouldn't bother to ask anyone about it, but this one worries me a little bit because it's hard, unmovable and painless--it almost feels like a little pea-sized ball of bone that is fused to my rib. Could this be anything nasty or am I silly for worrying?

Thank you.

Whoops. Ignore this, I've posted it in the wrong place and this site doesn't let you delete things.

I think your description of pea sized bone attached to your rib is probably accurate and that is exacty what it is. It may be a tiny bone cyst or ganglion. Totally harmless.   I have one on my collarbone.

If you feel fine and the lump feels smooth and not growing then just ignore it.

If you start to feel unwell and find more lumps or the lump starts to grow then you must see a doctor for more investigations.
