FOR YEARS i have struggled with chronic low or high blood pressure. BP has dropped as low as 60/40. it fluctuate all the time, i’ve learned to adapt to it for example I no longer shop, go places like museums or anywhere that involves walking slow or standing. Three times in the last four months my sodium level has dropped so low i had to be hospitlize so they could insert IV sodium fluids. It seems to be getting worse as I age. I became ill in 1996. I would appreciate any feedback. So glad I found this site.

    Dear Robin,

Your story sounds absolutely awful: perhaps we can be friends. I was diagnosed in 2001, but had my first health breakdown in, funnily enough 1996, which I was told was "malaise and lassitude - stress related" and recommended to take exercise!!! Since then I brought up a 22 year old and a 19 year old, lost my wife to the illness (she thinks its fake, psychological - we are divorced) and have been unemployable since 2002. I am now in my third relapse in 7 years and have been downgraded to officially "severe." Tough isn't it.

Do get in touch, if you wish.

philip, so sorry you were abandoned by your ex wife when you needed her the most. i hope your sons support you. where do you live? I live in Minnesota, USA. I was fortunate enough to receive Social Security disability. I waited two years into this illness before i surrended and applied for SSDI. fortunately, with the help and letters from two friends and a supportive doctor, I was Excepted on my first try. shortly after that my doctor retired and my two close friends eventually moved out of my life.

would love to stay in touch. I am very tired so I will have to end here. Look forward to hearing from you again.
