Hi

i read awhile ago now that managed migration ( moving existing legacy benefit claimants to UC) was going to start in November 2020 , is this still going ahead from next month? or is it likely delayed due to covid.

i know they were doing a trial i think it was in harrogate i think but not heard anything on how that went.

    HI,

There's absolute zero chance of this happening next month. Even before Covid, it wasn't likely to happen anytime in the next couple of years. Now it's looking more like 2024 at the earliest, unless a change of circumstances prompts a move before that.

The trial in Harrogate was a complete flop and less than 50 people out of 10,000 were successfully moved across up until January this year and it's very unlikely that it continued because more than 1 million people claimed UC because of Covid.

Think about PIP, which was introduced in April 2013, more than 7 years later there's still people claiming DLA and they continue to wait to be invited to apply.
