Managing EPI as an athlete/runner

Hello all! I was dx with EPI in June 2020, after years of dealing with GI symptoms and anemia. Anemia has been so bad that I have required dual infusions every 6-8 weeks. I started taking 24,000 Creon with all meals and snacks and have noticed some improvement in GI symptoms, but no real improvements with iron/blood. I am an endurance runner (running 60-90 miles/week) and have an increased daily caloric need, and am having issues managing EPI with diet and medication.

Questions for you:

  1. Is anyone else an athlete? How have you dealt with this, especially the increased kcal need and supplementing with enzymes?
  2. Has anyone else struggled with long term anemia and EPI?
