Managing work with glandular fever

Hi guys,

Hope you’re all doing well. Most of my symptoms have subsided now aside of the general aching lymph’s, occasional sore throat and mild tiredness at the end of the day! I’ve started back at work where I work as a TA for 8 hours a week but I also work in a fast paced cafe for 8 hours a week (16 working hours a week in total) which I am resuming this Monday.

I’m just worried about it making me relapse by pushing myself although it’s not that many hours.

I’ve been diagnosed now for 4 weeks however I feel I may have had the virus for at least a month before. 2 months in total.

Was wondering how you all found returning to work and how long it took you?

    Hi holly,

i was only ready at about 1 year 3 months to return to work, but so far I haven't as they have sacked me!! I only did 11 hours a week. But I do have a busy family so that's my work really. If you feel ready for it then go for it...only you know because we are all so different in recovery time. At 2 months of this illness I was in and out of bed or could only manage to sit downstairs and do nothing, not even manage company, so you're doing amazing. All you can do is see how it goes.

    good luck

    Caroline xx.
