MAP is the helpline run by Roche, the makers of Orlistat, it's manned by very helpful nurses. They send you really good information and give you a call now and again to see how you're doing.

You call them to register, from what I remember, the website doesnt work that well.

You'll need your box of Orlistat tablets to hand, as they ask you the serial number.

    The phone number is:

    [b:15ea0570b7]0800 7317138[/b:15ea0570b7]

    Good Luck

    Hi Suzywoo

I started taking orlistat on friday.

I must admit whilst i have been curbing my nasty pudding addiction ive found cutting back on the fatty meals rather hard.

ie chips beans and cheese today at lunch time. im sure i shall have severe windypops tonight or tomorrow for that offence!

but given that im not being very strict with myself when it comes to fat things havent been as dire as i anticipated before i started.

I was a wee bit constipated for a couple of days to begin with but \"ahem\" things have started occuring as regular as i was before.

I did have an unfortunate farting incident this morning (before work THANK GOD!!!) and ive noticed more of an oily residue when i go to the loo rather than the orange oil slick i was expecting.

Im wearing panty liners just in case something gives at a bad moment (but when is a good moment for that type of moment?? lol), ive noticed a slight greasyness when wiping after the loo (too much info?)

but no pooping of the knickers, no complaints from other folk in the house that im gassing them to death and im hoping when i start really behaving with the diet (please someone tell me how to enjoy unfatty foods) that the oilyness will go away.

and ive found this site to be great. i dont know anyone else who seems to be understanding about oily bums and the fear of farting.

i hope it goes well for you! how much are you hoping to lose? and have you tried anything else before?

    missp xx

I've been on Orlistat 2 months now, I've lost 1 stone 11 pounds.

I haven't had any nasty side effects so far, I keep to a fairly low fat diet.

The pudding addiction mentioned can be helped by weight watchers desserts, check the fat content first though, but someone on here said they were great.

    Good Luck
