Marsupialization of Bartholin cyst and aftercare

Hello. I had a marsupialization of a recurring bartholins cyst on the 12th of June (11 days ago). The cyst was small and painless. I felt good after surgery, with minimal pain once I was comfortable etc. I have been treating with Rosalgin and Betadine washes once or twice daily. I was given no antibiotics after leaving hospital. After a week the area was inflamed and swollen and the A&E Gine doctor said the wound was infected. I have been taking Augmentine since the 21st. The swelling has since gone down but still not back to the normal size. Will the antibiotics clear up the infection? When will I be back on my feet? I have no pain but I am uncomfortable if I stand for long periods and sit on hard chairs (I’ve been lying on the sofa and only leaving the house for appointments). I am worried because of contradicting recovery methods, for example, here in Spain they say I cannot submerge the wound in water so a sitz bath is out of the question despite this seemingly working for many people. Please can I have your opinion on the whole situation. I am very nervous and worried. Thank you.

I don't know who told you that a sitz bath won't work but they do. You really need to try a sitz bath so that it can help you. Get a second opinion if you have to

Hello. Nobody said sitz baths wouldn't work, it's just that Spanish aftercare states that you shouldn't submerge the wound in water.

Update: nearly 7 weeks since the op and all healed, stitches fallen out and back to normal life! smile
