Massive Swelling after Anal Skin Tag Removal Surgery (graphic pictures)

hello all,

i have been in a state of panic and extreme pain since my anal skin tag removal surgery 6 days ago. initially, my CRS advised that we would not use stitches and would leave the wound open. i two swollen tags (one above and below anus) from a hem from years ago. Prior to removing the tags, i went through one banding procedure with the CRS but the constant tugging pain was too much and i didnt want to go through that two more times prior to the actual skin tag removal (which was the only things really bothering me for mainly cosmetic and cleanliness reasons), so me and my CRS opted to just move forward with the anal tag excision. During the procedure, the top tag was removed without complication, however the bottom tag began bleeding profusely and my CRS attempted to burn it before deciding to use dissolvable stitches on the bottom one to stop the bleeding. this made me nervous. fast forward, i am 6 days post op, in so much pain and my bum looks HORRIFIC! red, huge bumps are completely covering my anus. went back to my CRS to see if this is normal and he says its just swelling. i am attaching pics below (graphic). has anyone else experienced this? if so, how long did it take for the massive swelling to go down? any answers help! image

    Hey anon96,

I'm 1 week post op and my wound is swelling really bad as well, similarly to yours. Has your wound completely recovered now?
