Maxillary retention cyst with an infection for 2 yrs(

i just wanted to share my experience to see if anyone had any advice .

2 yrs ago i went to an Ent to complain about a foul odor from my nose and a slight pain in my face with sinus infections.. After getting a CT scan I was told i had a retention cyst in the maxillary sinus and it would be best to leave it alone.

As time went by i started getting sinus infections and sought another ENT.

Again I was told to leave the retention cyst alone. I was prescribed antibiotics and noticed smell from my nose would go away. But inevitably the smell would always return.

long story short, i just had my second surgery with a new ENT specialist and i am 10 days post op. I am being told smell is still there. How is this possible ?

Has anybody had any experience with a cyst in the maxillary antrum ?

thank you
