May Thurner Syndrome and DVT and Post thrombotic Syndrome, do you have symptoms and looking for some

Posted , 7 users are following.

Do you have swollen leg or legs and pain and discolouration? Have you got venous insufficiency that hurts worse after a day standing or after exercise. We have been through a lot in the last 2 years after son developed huge DVT post surgery and he has really improved due to stents being fitted at a London NHS Hospital. I have lots of info to share.

Hi Jackie, Sorry about the symptoms. Son took painkillers when his leg ached. Have you had much discussion about post DVT symtoms as GPs get so caught up in the blood thinners prescriptions etc that they don't even talk about what happens next. Your body is still healing the DVT which is why the doc should send you to get scan to check it is going. You can ask for a referral to a hosp Vascular Consultant to see about your pain etc. Good luck.

I am a midlander too but down south nowadays. Sheila.

Hi Jackie and all on this post, son a has had 6 month scan and all is well, no clots and stents still in the correct place. He knew anyway as his leg is great. He is on Apixaban for 6 more months and it is fine, no more INRs.

Still feeling lucky. Many thanks to the good guys, the NHS and the ground breaking scientists. Sheila xx

Hi Jackie, so sorry you have side affects. Son seems to be lucky, Warfarin was easy and has no problems so far with Apixaban. He is quite glad to be having some pints of lager again. Good luck to all. Sheila.

Hi to All on here. Hope you are well and things improving.

Our son was contacted by a journalist to write about his story. He had a massive DVT as you know and was lucky enough to get successful treatment using stents. If you want to read his story search online kirsty english never play sport again. It is only online at the moment, it might get picked up elsewhere, we want to spread the good news about treatment as it may help some others. Keep in touch,

      Sheila
