Maze procedure

Hi - I've had 3 failed ablations.  I'm wondering now about the Maze procedure - the minimally invasive one.  Does anyone have experience of this?  Or any next steps.  I am controlled for the moment by medication but don't hold out hope that this will last.  Thanks in advance.

Interested in any replies you get. 2 failed ablations so far. Have read about maze procedure and had read more men than women had had, though no idea on minimal procedure. Not seen EP yet and not sure how would feel on a more surgical op. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply Shirley.  My EP and I discussed this option before my third ablation but he wanted to do the 3rd one first.  A Dr Modi did the minimally invasive version on a patient several months ago, might have been longer ago.  It was in a newspaper article.  I think he is in Liverpool.  Anyway, my EP is quite up to date on things so I'm going to discuss it with him when I see him in April.  Thats if he thinks its an option!  But I think - though I'm not sure on this - it requires going on bypass (certainly for the invasive option).  Good luck to you too.
