Me Too

Hi, I have fibro and also arthritis in neck and shoulders from years of typing and learning on a manual, this is now going across chest area, the same place as costo would and I my chest area is so painful, just the slightest touch burns.  I am 58 now and still work part time in an office. I sort of managed my pain with ibuprofen, hot wraps and the odd physio session, until physio said my muscles were so rigid, I was wasting my money. My problem now is that after having a DVT in December I have been on thinners, I thought it was for 6 months but no, apparently it is for life.  So no ibuprofen, this is a major blow as they were keeping me sane.  A lot of anti inflammatories cannot be taken with thinners, paracetamol or codeine are no good, they take the edge off slightly but I am in constant pain with horrendous headaches and stiff necks and general soreness in breast area. I was given 9 diazepam 2mg and they did nothing.  I struggle to get in and out of the bath so do not have Epsom salts often, they do not help for long anyway.  Everything helpful interacts with thinners even turmeric is a problem.  I am really stuck knowing what to do and have even thought about coming off thinners and taking my chances as I do not want to spend the rest of my life in pain. I am still only young and want to keep active but even cuddling the cat is painful.  LOL

    Hi,

Have you heard of hyperbaric oxygen therapy? I am at the moment on a hell of a lot of meds, my husband is going to do a sponsor walk try and raise enough money for me to go and have some sessions. It is supposed to help FM/CFS sufferer's!! It will cost about 500pound for enough to benefit. My husband researched this after reading on a fibro forum that one lady had several sessions and has been pain free for a year now, she just goes for a top up session. I know it's expensive, I can't afford it at the moment but my hubby really thinks we should give it a go. The thought of never having to take medication again sounds good to me.

So if anybody on this forum tried this hyperbaric treatment could you please share your experience!!!

HI, I have never heard of it, but to be honest I waste so much money and time on meds and physio sessions, taking days off which are used up at GP's that it would be worth a try. I will google. Good luck with fund raising.  Take care
