Meal ideas!!

Hi guys,
I live (and am trying to heal from) with hemorrhoids like most here. What kind of dinner foods do you eat to keep healthy, light with fiber? Any kind of meats? Maybe fish or chicken?
Also, if you ever get to restaurants, what's your go to place/meal? I know we all live in different areas but need some ideas!!
Thanks!!

Hey there V504,
I've been trying lots of different stuff and it has mostly all been pretty good. Brown rice with veggies and chicken is one of my favorites. Chicken and fish are good to eat. Just try not to eat a whole lot of fried foods and things of that nature. Another recipe I've been using is Chicken and pasta with broccoli and carrots and add parmesan. Also really good. Honestly I think it's ok to still eat other foods, you just have to keep up on your fiber and tons of water. I bought these fiber one bars from Wal-Mart that have 5g fiber per bar. They are really good too. Or you can do fiber supplements with lots of water also. I don't eat out too often since I've been struggling with hemorrhoids but I feel my struggle is slowly but surely coming to a close. That being said, I honestly don't want to eat out anymore. Like I'll go to a nice restaurant for a special occasion, but I don't find myself in the taco bell or any other drive thru for that matter anymore lol. I think it's a blessing because I've become accustom to cooking for myself all the time, and it's healthier. It's just a win win. That's me though haha, hope you found this helpful. Later!

Very helpful thanks! I like chicken and fish too. And sweet potatoes. New ideas are always welcome 🙂

Everyone is different but I definitely know for myself what I need to stay away from. Foods that aggravate my hemmorhoids and cause me constipation are any cheese, donuts, potato chips, cookies, steak, ribs (and that stinks because ribs are my favorite), chocolate, dairy, nuts, and bread. Foods that don't seem to bother me are fish (grilled), chicken (not fried), spinach, sweet potatoes, popsicles (water based), jello, brown rice, asparagus, squash, cucumbers, peas, green beans, oatmeal.

My choices are similar.. chicken, fish, sweet potatoes, peas are my safe foods. If I want to live dangerously (ha) I'll have a couple bites of a donut or some kind of chocolate...or have a little cheese. Very strict moderation though. And of course only water to drink.
Sorakingdom, how I miss taco bell! 🙂Those days are over but healthy eating has been good for me.
As for restaurants, very rare here too especially recently but we do takeout Bonefish Grill near our house sometimes. They have a good grilled trout or salmon and Brussels sprouts.

one of the nurse who visited me recommended beans. baked beans , lentils etc. Since then i have been eating baked beans once a day and two pears a day or oranges. she also recommended crunchy vegetables like broccoli. basically i will have at least a meal with vegetables a day chicken or fish as well and also metamucil at night.
