Tried alverine citrate for a while, was concerned that it may be having side effects so I tried mebeverine, which was an awful drug for me.
It was like I was not even on medication. I was wondering whether other people have been through similar experiences and what type of IBS it is for really.
Some studies show that it is no more effective than a placebo.

I was on on colfac mebervine twice a day for my IBS-D occasionly C . I chose to take 1 a day. I feel it has helped me as I have gone from up to 6 flare up a week to about 4 a month. Unless you are taking a hardening medication I don't think anything will stole the diarrehea side of IBS. I still do have loose stools and diarrehea. Mebervine just eases the cramps etc my advice is to give the drug a go as at the beginning I was dubious as I was having it what seemed every day.
