Some people just can not take any acid blocking drugs. They cause more problems than they solve. I found two things that shut down stomach acid production. First is ice. If you can chew ice and swallow some little chunks it will shut down the stomach. You can also make an ice smoothie with a favorite fruit.

The other thing, which seems counter intuitive, is cayenne pepper powder. If you want to try this, start off with a 1/4 full capsule. Take with water, make sure it goes all the way down. I would take this 1 hour after a meal. And unlike a ppi drug, there is no rebound effect. I believe this works because the stomach perceives the cayenne pepper sensation as acid, so it releases less acid. And technically the stomach does not send a signal of burning from the pepper so you should not feel anything. Do not substitute any other type of pepper, I have only tested the cayenne. But, everyone is different. You may have many stomach injuries from the ppi drugs.

So try the ice method first.

This is the first time I have shared this discovery about the ice and cayenne pepper. so I don't have any other feedback, just my own experience. These are definitely more natural solutions and actually work with your body. Let me know what you find out. John
