Does anyone know or have experience on whether or not alpha blockers like Flomax, Alfuzosin, Silodosin, Doxazosin, etc will help people with median lobe ? Thanks. Hank

Short answer , it's a 50-50 shot I have a large median lobe , it's large enough for the doctors to put in writing that my urethra is closed due to the lobe.

I'm currently waiting to see the surgeon for my second procedure.

I take Flomax or alfuzosin only when I'm desperate. it's a crap shoot as to whether it's going to work or not . I don't see the need to suffer the side effects of the medicine, taken on a daily basis , if it's not going to work .

I only take .2 mg of Flomax which is half the amount of the capsule which is .4 mg. like I said, I don't like the side effects, so .2 mg only last 12 hours then tapers off the next couple days.

What I have found works best for me is to do intermittent fasting, little to no sugar, no nuts. anything that would cause you inflammation cut it out, it'll help you tremendously. This has been the only consistant way to keep me from catherizing myself while I wait for my surgery.
