Does it help you with your anxiety?  I go off and on different meds all the time and nothing seems to help. Right now I'm on Lamotrigine and after a bad rupture of an aneurism, they stopped working.. I'm still taking it with the hope it will kick back in. I'm also on Buspar..The Buspa helps a little but my worst symptoms are when I wake up in the morning along with a pounding heartbeat.. Every morning it's the same thing but it seems to get a bit more tolerale as the day goes on.. I would love if someone could tell me why this happens in he morning and I'm ok at night...

Yes it does help with my anxiety . But since I am dependent on them they don’t seem to work as well like before .

Ask your doctor if you can take Lorazepam instead.   Been taking it for years.  Still works for me.

I was on lorazepam before for 12 years and they weaned me off within 6 months. Now my dr wants to wean me off from diazepam 😭😭😭

Tried Zoloft to no avail and it gave me weird side effects. Doc changed me to Buspar which I haven’t started yet, scared of side effects. Gotta stop being chicken I suppose cause ya never know, it could very well work for me. Anyway, I also take Ativan as needed. Doc only gave me a 30ct of .5 mgs. I try to take them only as needed and use them sparingly causing myself to suffer when I don’t use them. I usually only take one pill a day every other day to maybe every 3 days. I do not have any side effects what so ever and they work like a charm! I feel at least 80% myself and one .5 mg pill lasts me the day. I do get just a tad tired by the end of the day but not sleepy where I can’t function. It’s a shame that Ativan works very well for me but doctors don’t really want to prescribe it much because of the strong addiction it can create, at least that’s what they say.......  My father takes them as needed and he’s been for many many years. No issues for him as he sometimes goes weeks without and has no problems and sometimes he takes them everyday for a week or two if he needs them. He never has any withdraw symptoms or any issues stopping/starting.

I’ve been using it for about 3 months now. It still works great for me when I take it and unfortunately I suffer with my anxiety on the days I don’t take it. Still on the fence tough about starting that Buspar. Wish I knew ahead of time if it would be good for me or not.

Why do they make meds that actually work but get you hooked and docs don’t want to prescribe? Wish there were meds that actually do work with none to minimal side effects that can’t get you hookedans can be started/stopped easily. All this technology and they can’t figure some of these things out..... It’s a tough road out there dealing with anxiety. Good luck with everything.

Oh, an my biggest issue with anxiety is morning anxiety. I wake up super early with heart pounding, nausea and just overall feel like crap with this anxiety. Mornings are the worst but feel ok in the evenings. My therapist keeps saying she’s puzzled why I have such bad morning anxiety and I’m ok as the day goes on and can sleep at night just fine. Mornings are horrible.

I get morning anxiety too. Not all days. If I feel anxious in the morning I just take a .5 mg of Ativan and I am good for the day. Been doing this for 3 years and no problems.

Yes my heart rate goes up and I feel like I am having heart palpitations. Also feels like a pinching sensation at my heart muscles.

Thank you.. Speaking of side effects. I was taking Respridol and one of the side effects was falling..  I fell down 3 steps a collapsing fall,  fell like an ironing board and whacked my head on the wall.  This kind of falling, your natural instinct to reach out somehow to break the fall doesn't exist.     I wound up with a hematoma "huge' on my hip, an epidermal hematoma and broke  Buspa is what I'm taking so far no side effects. I also take Lorazepam,  same family as Adivan but I take 2 milligrams a day.  I've taken it for over 6 years but never addicted/  I stopped taking it for a while and had a bunch of bottles in my drawer so I threw them out.  I spent my entire summer 2015 in the er because of panic attacks, so I'm back on them again.  I still try not to take my full dosage cause I'm sick of meds, but it's a safety net for me.  I don't believe I can get addicted. not Only you would know would know if you would or not.  It doesn't sound like you are.  You should ask him or her to up your dosage.  It's a controlled substant and even the insurance will only fill what your doctor prescribed.  Give the Buspa a chance, if you don't have any side effects then give it a few weeks at least for them to set in.  My heart doesn't race, it pounds and I have anxiety every morning I wake up.  The buspa is supposed to help that.  We'll see.  Good luck.  ed
