Medication for anxiety and other symptoms

Is anyone prescribed oral medication to help with the anxiety and/or pain associated with LS. When I have the pain in my vulva area ad if I lay down to relax the pain seems to subside. I think I could use some oral medication to help me calm down and relax therefore calming the inflammation and pain.

I don't know if my doctor will agree to prescribe something.

Sometimes I use a benzodiazepine, called Klonopin, in the weakest strength, maybe half of one. It definitely is calming, and also affects the pain.center of the brain, reducing pain sometimes into the next day. The slight negative is that it can cause minor dryness.

    Hi Mary

You could ask you doctor for a low (10mg) dose of Amitriptyline but you would take it every night on a regular basis. I have had vulvodynia and it it useful for the control of pain. X
