Medications

Male 38 years old, fibro sufferer. Question is, I've been prescribed amitriptyline, currently on 40mg. But I've found they have demolished my sex drive, both mentally and physically. They do help with the pains, but I'm not willing to write off my sex life just yet. Is anyone (men obviously) had the same problem, or can anyone recommend a medication that doesn't have this side effect. It's really getting me down. Regards, Mike.

Hi Chris, thanks for the reply. I think I've been taking them for about 4 months roughly. And just noticed myself becoming less and less interested.... which wasn't like me at all. I'm going to go back to the doctors on Monday and discuss things again. Thanks again.

    Hi Mike

I found taking any meds made me feel low and I gained so much weight. I tend to steer clear of meds and try alternative remedies. It all depends from person to person what works.

Try CBT therapy which helps you to deal with the pains in a mindful way.  Your still young and giving up sex is not fair.

Hope you find out some help for you soon.

    Take care wink x
