Hi friends i have been taken amitriptyline for a few months now gradually increasing the dose I am not at 75mg at night 8 know the dry mouth can be a side effect but this is horrendous I am still wakening through the night no because of the fibro but because my mouth is bone dry so have 2 keep drinkin 2 add moisture
tonight I have decided I am going to cut myself back down they don't work for me anyway doctor said if I didn't get any relief at 75mg she would change the type but I am not prepared 2 wait for an appointment to cut the meds I will take 50mg for 2wks then 25 me for a further 2 as I have no 100 left I will then just have the 25 me and take a half
My Tounge feels like it's been burnt all over with a cup of tea and is now effecting my eating. Has anyone else found this on amitriptyline

I nearly became incontinant from Amytriptiline,it has a anesthetic in it,and it affected my bladder to the extent I didn't even notice I was peeing!
I immediately stopped and just use ,as I have said to Chris when my fibro is really bad.

I came acoss this article,it may be of help.
I know we are all different, and have to try different levels of medicine to try help with the pain.
I only take amytriptiline on a need only basis, but need my anxiety tablet every night, along with two co-codamol,forme this works after 15 years.
I have a Tempur pillow and cannot sleep without satin sheets on my skin! Yes, I know it sounds strange but it seems to help. And it's easier to slide over in bed.
The site is Pain Concern.Amytriptyline.
Good Luck Chris.
