    Hello MrsShip,

Unfortunately not able to answer your question from my own experience. I do know that citalopram is for depression and dihyrocodeine is a strong pain killer. So unless there is omething I don't know about, they are two different conditions. I can understand that because of fibro you are depressed, if that is the case, he has taken you off your depression tabs.

Hope others have a better answer1

Hi Anne, anti-depressants are presrcibed to a lot of people for their fibro pain. The original medication I was put on was an anti-depressant, most of the others have been anti-convulsant medications and the current one is an anti-psychotic, so the main use doesn't mean that's all it is helpful for.

Hi, I occasionally take DHC when tramadol doesn't work. I have a small supply from a hospital admission which I keep for emergencies which I find can help to take the edge of the pain.

Hi, Dihydrocodiene is an opiate, it can be addictive although I was told by friends who are social workers working with addicts and by my consultant that they aren't addictive if used for pain relief rather than as a recreational drug. Over the years I have stopped taking them when the pain is bearable many times without any adverse effects. When I first started taking them I had hallucinations but I don't now. Remember to eat something before taking them, eat plenty fibre to stop the constipation or maki fruit smoothies with Spinach and Kale as a base.

    hope this helps

    Regards
