Meds making it worse??

I've recently had an operation and I was put on a butt load of medication..seemed to trigger my ibs big time..has this happened to any one else?

Yes, many medications directly affect the gut and bowels. It's one of the most common side effects of almost all medications.

If you had surgery that involved your stomach, this can trigger IBS. Medications can also upset the intestine.

  I had a tonsillectomy and then got an infection from the original hospital so as well as big pain meds they then had to give me antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds too after being transferred to another hospital

  Another trigger for IBS is infection. Try some probiotics or yoghurt to help keep your gut flora balanced.
