Melanoma on bottom of foot?

Hey there, i noticed this brown spot a couple of months ago on the underside of my foot. my girlfriend saw it and mentioned it could be melanoma. I dont notice any change in texture, its just colored.image

any thoughts? I'll schedule an appointment to have it checked.
