Melatonin?

I've read that sometimes the night time voiding that we older guys sometimes develop can be a result of less melatonin formation by the pineal gland and that supplements can help. anyone try this?

It works for some people. I tried it many years ago it neither reduced night time voiding nor helped me sleep better. Some people reported that a strong concentrated brand of cherry juice helped them as cherries contain melatonin.

I have been using Melatonin for the last about 3 years. I sleep nicely but it has no effect on voiding. Have been voiding at least 3 times at night and then again go to sleep afterwards every time.

If you read up on Melatonin is is not meant to be taken long term.

In the UK it is normally prescribed by doctors rather than over the counter and they say to limit it to two months. In theory that has helped to regulate a sleeping pattern.

I guess I'm screwed. I've been taking melatonin nightly for over 20 years. I take 12 mg every evening. I have BPH, but I don't think melatonin had anything to do with it. I'm scheduled for a UROLIFT this week. 60 gram prostate, doing CIC as needed (1 - 3 per day, naturally voiding 6 - 8 times per day).
