Meloxicam

Hi all,

I had my left tkr 11-3-2015, broke the same leg May 2016 and now have nerve damage in that leg.

My regular doctor put me on meloxic am 15mg once daily since the surgeon

That did the surgery refuses to see me and I no longer have insurance. It's been a steady battle to get anything accomplished

I'm an over the road truck driver and do a lot of sitting. My question is has anyone been on this medicine e long term or could recommend something besides this med?

My leg feels tight and heavy, like I'm dragging it at times. I almost wish I had never done the tkr as it seems even before the broken leg my new knee just wasn't working right..would just love to have 1 whole day with no pain

I was on the medicine for about 9 months for kneecap arthritis before I had bilateral knee replacements during the summer. It made my blood pressure rise at first and made me depressed. It finally kicked in and helped with pain and inflammation. Was glad to get off it. If it bothers you, see if you can change medications.

    Hi Dawn!

I was on Meloxicam for about two years. Apparently it was the cause of a stomach ulcer found after I had an upper and lower GI. I quit taking it before my first TKR in June of 2015.

Since then my two TKRs have solved my knee pain problem, but I DO take a couple Ibuprofen as needed for arthritis in other parts of my body.

The Meloxicam didn't work any better than Ibuprofen. I use the Ibuprofen liquigels which dissolve better and work quicker than the regular pills.
