    Hello Gail

I can say though that memory foam mattresses or mattress toppers work as well. Try one of the foam toppers to start with (they are around £40) if you are not already using one as it helps me sleep much easier.

Hi, I hope you had a good night's sleep with the new pillow, but I had one a while ago and it just gave me a sore neck! I also asked my physio about it and she said if there's nothing wrong with your neck then don't tamper with it, so I wouldn't reccomend using one unless you have a neck problem. Try it though if you want - I'm not a professional!!! It's just what I was told. Then again she told me that physio would fix me, and here I am as bad as ever!

hi i did try the pillow for two nights and now its in the corner of the bedroom!! :D that was the only thing left for me to try, so it looks like its back to the ametriptalyne and codeine again to try and get a sleep, never mind eh not long now, (been saying that since july).

the only thing is i do like the odd glass of wine and when im taking these pesky meds im not allowed alchol, so looks like thats gone an all. hope your feeling a little better rhi, gail

The odd glass of wine isn't going to do any harm with those meds Gail (believe me, I have been there). If anything it will make you feel better with them!!!!!

Hi Gail, not feeling much better, but determined to get the injections! Just wanted to let you know that I've been on amitryptalene (however the hell you spell it!) and drank the odd glass of wine (or shot of sambuka!!) and been fine. I think it's more regular binging that'll give you bad side affects.

Amitryptilene didn't agree with me at all (regardless of alcohol content alongside it). It made me very violent (and that is not me) after taking one during the day. I could hardly control my temper (hard for me to lose it) and made me paranoid in that if I went outside I would want to fight anyone that walked by me. Had to stop taking them immediately.

I'll swap you a cervical soft collar for the memory foam pillow Gail? :D

    hi darren

thats the thing with any meds what helps one person is poisen to another , after i take any anti-inflammetries im violently ill, sickness, terrible stomach pains, and yet some people take them with now ill effect, i think thats why sometimes its best to see what suits you best, im not sure where to go after the codeine? i had such bad side effects after trammadol i was so scared, it sort of puts me off trying anything, but ive been fine with amytriptalyne so far only the hung over feeling the next day but i can cope with that, i did ask my gp if i could take them in the day time if the nerve pain got too bad but she said that they are a 24 hr tablet and so doesnt want me taking any more. as for the collar i did put a post up yeh went ok last night, sorry the pillows found a new home one of my colleagues offered it a home this morning. hope your doing ok any news on the gp situ yet? gail
