Memory problems, mood swings, feel like I am suffocating when I wake up, etc?

I've been having numerous and actually quite alarming strange symptoms happening to me over recent times.

For a start I have been experiencing severe memory problems for a few years now, often leading to me forgetting everything which I had in my head. Every single time I for example go upstairs to find something when I get up one flight of stairs I spend at least a minute standing in confusion trying to remember what I am doing there and what I am trying to find. I also forget very important things to me on an indiscriminant basis very suddenly.

I have deep mood swings which cause me to be happy at one stage and aggressive and upset at another stage with no discernible cause. I have noticed I am incredibly easy to manipulate as I tend to believe everything, and I often have panic attacks.

Strange things happen when I sleep. When I sleep on my back I almost always get nightmares but never when I sleep on my side. Often I get night terrors and I awake trembling, sweaty and sometimes gasping. I have noticed I find it difficult to breathe at times when I wake up. I also at times get headaches when I wake up, and even if I sleep for 10 hours I very often feel incredibly tired and wake up constantly at night. Several people have also complained that I snore incredibly loudly (not sure if this is a problem though)

I was told I might have Asperger's syndrome but I am not sure it explains the sleep and memory problems I described above. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
