Meniere symptoms

Hello everyone.

I have been diagnosed with MD for a year now.

I just have some questions about permanent symptoms.

My short history is: I had 3 vertigo attacks that lasted for 3 day in 2016. Every one with 3 months apart. i recovered well from the first 2 but on the 3rd it seemed to have kind of hangover.

Only after I made a cochleografy that the doctor told me that I have MD.

I feel kind dizzy all the time, but what is worse is that it seems that my vision is not the same as it used to been. It just does not focus properly. And I feel kind of desoriented most of the time. And of course i have a ringing in my year, but it does not bother me lot, except when I about to sleep.

Do any of you have the same thing?

I went to the eye doctor and he says my vision is ok.

And another doctor told me that its only somatization.

I don´t have a attack for 1 year and 6 months now.

any tips or medication to make this desoriented feellinga nd blurred vision go away?

Thanks to all and I hope we all get better!

    High Andrem,

Sorry your having such a hard time of it at the moment,

maybe you'd like to tell the group of the medications your

taking any other relervent illness's to may have..

your balance is directly linked to your eyes especialy if

your standing you can get what i call information overload

were the brains carn't make out exactly whats going on

causing the dissoriontation and confusion with diziness this

is directly linked to what the eyes are picking up plus

    the imbalance from meniere's..

its an interesting point you make as i had an eye test and

my sight was said to be o.k. but one eye was better than the other..

i have m.d. in my right ear and my right eye is poorer than my left..

I also suffer anxiety stress  and depression so that is the probable cause

of  my blurred  vision among other things that can cause it is high blood

pressure and migraines and a lot more..

Ive heard it called (brain fog or mist) its like being  hungover and you just

carn't take things in this is a common m.d. symptom along with feeling sick

and fatigue..the feeling dizzy all the time can be helped with meds ..

Iv not heard of blurred vision being directly linked to m.d. but more of a symptom

from the illness iv described ..let the group now more about your conditions and the

meds and maybe they can help further..all the best..stev..

Hello Andrem, Thank you for your post, I have had meniere's since 2005, I have vision issues, out of focus is my issue as well. I have been to an ophthalmologist and they found no cause of focus issues. " my issues is like looking through a piece of saran wrap" its just not clear. That is one of the many symptoms appeared since the onset of meniere's. Best wishes, Bertman

Hi Andrew, l was diagnosed with me, about 5-6years ago! My vitigo was everyday, I was vomiting and scared all the time! I had surgery 4 year's ago and it has helped with the vitigo, but I do still have the dizziness some time! My doctor gives me 2mg.of Valium to take whatever I feel like I need it,it helps! As far as my eyes go they are blurry, but I am 65years old! I do use a magnifying glass some. I also have terrible anxiety because of the dizziness, I am so scared it will turn to vitigo! I pray for God's healing for you and all others with this menieres disease! I hope this helps! Love ,mowmow

Yes I too have blurred vision and difficulty focusing when I am say reading or on my I pad and then look at the tv. My eyes just don’t adjust very quickly. For the last 18 months I have been permanently disorientated and as though I am seasick. The ENT balance woman said it’s the Ménière’s but it does worry me because it’s not getting better and I can’t do very much. I also have the hearing loss and tinnitus that you get with this awful disease. I never realised your ears could cause such chaos.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the replys.

I’m Taking bethaystine  48mg in the morning and 48mg at night.

Does not seem to Help much.

I’m also a smoker, and have anxiety due to menieres, always woring about vertigo.

I recently read a book “meniere man”. He talks about having a super healthy life and it helped.

The out of focus vision is the worse symptom for me. It really bothers me during the role day.

I found out that taking some anti anxiety remedies helps to ease things a litle bit.

    Again, thanks for the responses.

Sorry for any english mistakes. I from brazil, and there is not a patient Groups arround here.

    Hello Andrem,

Anxiety is a bigger issue to me than M.D.,

I'v sufferd  anxiety problems for forty years and it can

really spiral out of control to the point where it comes on

by itself if you recognise any of these symptoms in yourself

you probably have an anxiety disorder,

feeling restless all the time not being able to sit still,

poor consentration not be able to focus your mind always

worrying about this and that restless sleep wakeing up in the

night with maybe pulpitations the sound of your heart beating

heavy in your ears .fears of your heart stopping or heart attacks

feelings of panic sweaty hands bad anxiety dreams blurred

vision as you have said which can be stress from anxiety..

these symptoms are what the average person can deal with

but with a difference (they come down quickly from anxiety)

where as someone with anxiety disorder carnt ..

I am a long term sufferer anxietys 24/7 for me even if your anxiety

isnt that bad you still need some coping skills to deal with it before

    it becomes a problem,

with anxiety you find yourself breathing wrongly (i.e. into the chest first)

the stomach should move first if you lay down your stomach moves to the

cielling and back down naturely if your breathing is out of sink this will take

practice this one procedure correcting breathing is something you can do anywhere

any time and will calm you..second at night you need to be able to turn off this is

done with light meditation most of your thoughts are brobaly worries and (fears)

(Fear feeds anxiety) so thats what we are trying to tame..you need to lay down on the

bed get your breathing right you might want to stretch you limbs at this point remember

your not trying to exercise but just loosen up and get rid of the some adrenaline in the

limbs which build up from fear now its about finding a good time in your life to meditate

on its best to have an imige thats not to busy more peacefull intrusive thoughts of worry

will pop into your head the heart is to let them go i tell myself i will deal with it tommorow

and go back to meditating as you start to relaxe your muscles may twitch or your eye lids

you have to let that go to its just axcess adrenaline ..

now these are the fear parts you have to deal with,

(any body who has a heart condition should not do this without consulting there doctor..)

As you start to relaxe your heart will slow you may fear this as you may think its going to

stop..if you do you have to remind your self you dont have a heart condition or a history

of heart problems in your family and that heart is just going into standby and you always wake

up..I no it sounds silly but this is how anxiety can effect you..the oppasite is all true you

may think you will have a massive heart attack also not true if you dont have heart trouble

so again you remind youself you dont have heart problems its simply that your body is relaxe..

its best to mention at this point if your bodys relaxed then your mind can only follow suite

as you body is contradicting your the anxiety..(anxiety is the fight or flight instinct and your body

has to be ready to do both so you get massive bursts of adrenaline in all your limbs but were

controdicting that because the body is relaxed so the mind starts to relaxe to) and with practice

you will gain some control over anxiety..i feel for you as you probably have to pay for medications in brazil

but if you can try to get a reliable anxiety medication...

ole p.s. im english and you can spell better than me..wishing you well ...stev..
