Hi all, about a year and a half ago I work up extremely dizzy. I was scared and it lasted for a few days. Started out not so bad, but then got to a point where I couldn't walk. Went to the hospital 2 times because I had no idea what the heck it was. After some steriods and ativan, it went away. Thank goodness! 8 months later, guess what. I got it again. Not as bad as my first time but still needed help walking. I took some steriods, rested and was fine. Fast forward to the other day.. 8 months again from my last episode. I was in the store with my 5 year old, and all of a sudden.. got dizzy. Hoped the feeling would pass but didn't. Had to call family to pick us up because there was no way I could drive. Went home, played down and took a prednisone pill. Woke up later and felt so so. Not as dizzy but very nauseous. In all cases I had terrible headaches after. I've always had sporadic ringing in my ears.. a high pitch noise but never thought anything about it. Every now and then I feel a fullness in my ear but again, never thought anything of it. I would really love any support or suggestions..anything. I see a specialist may 25th.

Ménière’s disease is an inner-ear condition that can cause dizziness, a specific type of dizziness in which you feel as though you’re spinning. It also can cause ringing in your ear, hearing loss that comes and goes and a pressure in the ear.
I give you some signs of it:-
1.Recurring episodes of vertigo
2.Hearing loss
3.Ringing in the ear (tinnitus)
4.the feeling of fullness in the ear
Treatment:-
Medication: The most common symptom of an attack of Ménière’s disease is vertigo. Medication can help relieve vertigo and shorten the attack.
Air pulse generator: Repeated delivery of small air pulses transfer into a tube placed in the eardrum had some variable success.
Surgery: These following surgical procedures suggested depending on the patient’s situation:
1.Endolymphatic sac shunt surgery
2.Vestibular nerve sectioning
3.Labyrinthectomy

In the rehab process I had vertgo again and they gave me mecluzine and Ativan and a patch! I was a zombie! Anyway, in my case I have vertigo that leads up to strokes but also vertigo from md. This past weekend I had the md vertigo where you can’t walk or keep anything down you just want to die! Not knowing which kind of vertigo it was my husband gave me a Ativan which couldn’t keep down later a meclizine which I kept long enough to help.
Ive been seeing an ent to help me. I’ve lost 80% of heating in my rut ear and 30 in my left. I had an operation 20 years ago and had a sepadectimy to help my hearing. I want it out because I feel it’s causing the md but doctor won’t do it as I’ll loose complete hearing in return ear and chance of another stroke. So it’s a catch 22.
the noise is horrible in my ear some times worse than others. I notice anxiety, caffeine and salt make it worse. Also, bloodpressure plays a big role too. If you have it again that bad please go to the er.
I hopei didn’t bore you with my story. Just happy I found someone that understands! Take care, god bless
