Menieres but my balance is good

Is there anyone else who suffers all the other symptons apart from balance problems? I did fall down first time last week because of sudden dizzy spell but otherwise my balance is really good. I know this illness is different for everyone but still would like to know can it progress to balance problems later and so on. My symptoms only started in August but quite bad. Now i can have couple of good days and then back off from work for days. On good days i can cycle to train station although takes all my strength, where as before it was piece of cake. No chance of going running which i love. Im soon 41 but feel 30 years older. Really frustrating and depressing at times so any feedback would be lovely.

    Hi!

I have fullness of ears, tinnitus and dizziness. It's very rare I have a full blown vertigo attack so I'm lucky so far. When it comes to balance, it depends on the day. I suffer with a floating feeling a lot and on those days I struggle to walk because I feel weird and weak and it seems my mind then panics and it's like my legs are going to give. It's very odd and debilitating. I tend to be off work on those days though as I teach and cannot possibly teach with brain fog, dizziness and exhaustion.

I don't know if you call that a problem with balance itself. I've never fallen over but I have wobbled if I turned my head too fast. I have "felt" out of balance and walked like a snail out of precaution and sometimes I seem to divert from the path I'm on when I'm walking. I have a lot of bruises on my legs from bumping into things when I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing and not concentrating.

You're right, this disease is frustrating. I'm 38 and on bad days feel 65 (or 90?) and it depresses me so much. I've been fine for two weeks now after three weeks spent off work and always at the back of my mind there is a little voice wondering when the next time will be.

I am not sure if it gradually gets worse. In my case it has been present for about 10 years when I think about it but I've only just been referred to ENT in May as the time spent off work was getting ridiculous and I wanted answers. In those ten years, the symptoms have become more frequent to the point where they never really leave me now. I didn't use to have vertigo attacks but they have started occuring in the last year and half or so. I've only had about 4 so far and I really really hope they are not going to get more frequent.

I don't think the disease is the same for anyone at all or the progression. We are all unique MD sufferers, all our stories are different, you're right!

I hope you feel better soon, good luck!

Thank you. I guess it does affect to my balance but not majorly since i do have that floating feeling or like walking on very soft surface but i just ignore it and look far ahead. That seems to help. I guess im lucky that i do not need stick or other support when walking.
