Been having a lot of problems with pretty much almost daily vertigo.  Considering trying the Meniett Device.  Has anyone used this before? and if so, how did it work for you?

Hello. It was suggested I get a meniett device for my Meniere's but the cost and because also results are a bit hit and miss I researched it in the Web. I found the P100 hand held device by ENTTEX for around £50. I got one to try and it does help with the fulness feeling but nothing else. Have a look on the Web and see what you think. You need to have your doctor put a grommet in your ears or it won't work.

The p100 works in a similar way to the Meniett as you pump air but by hand. Go to you tube and search for Ed Cheung Meniere's. He has a video on the Meniett and P100 along with a few others on menieres. It will give you a better idea of how these things work.

Thank you so much.  I will. If  go with the Meniett Device - my insurance let me know that if I do go with it they will cover the device and my ENT will be putting a tube in my ear. I won't go with it though if my vertigo doesnt at least get under control.

    Hi

I did look into these but didnt want further interference in my ear so opted to take beconase which seems to work for me.  I use when I have that blocked up feeling which is now and again.

My problem is more with the vertigo.  Ive pretty much gotten use to having side of my head numb with pressure.  I can deal with that.  I do not want to deal with the vertigo any longer though.  Does Beconase only help with the pressure?

To be honest I am managing the vertigo and dizziness with a strict daily routine of exercises and meditation and breathing exercises. I only use it when i get that heavy and full ear problem. I have had to use now and again for last year.

Exercising casuses the vertigo to hit me also.  Is there a type of exercising that works for you?  I've never tried meditation.  I know stress causes a lot of my attacks also, though.  Do you follow a low sodium diet also?

Hi,   I have low salt/no salt,  I hardly eat out and I add lemon/tamarind juice, yoghurt, herbs and spices to my food.  When I eat out I notice the difference and if I don't exercise I am thirsty for days after.  The vertigo then present itself, usually mild.   The information on menieres org, gives the reasons why salt reduction is necessary.

I use yoga to help me to get rid of the tensions and stiffness I feel in my neck, head, shoulder and back.  Prior to my menieres attack in June 2014 I was involved in a number of stressful events, at that time my neck and shoulder, in particular,  were very stiff and I had headaches/migranes.  The meditation helps with my breathing especially when my ear feels very muffled and I have that heaviness. I have learnt to immediately used the breathing exercises to get out of the vertigo and chanting as a form of distraction.  Fresh air has been a must for me.  I take betahistines

Menieres  has taught me to think of myself and to do things that are for myself.  In the early days after my first menieres attack, if I woke up and I was relatively ok, I did a few exercises moved my head from side to side, up and down, close my eyes and did the same and then.  I walked up and down stairs eyes open then close.  It was a very gradual process, baby steps.  Sometimes very little, again the menieres info give reasons why this is helpful.  I now do an hour each morning, yoga stretches, breathing exercises.  I swim, go on long walks and run when I can.

Incidentally less than a year I was able to do a long haul holiday.  I focussed on the people I knew and the chanting, a good book, sudoku, films helped me through

The one important thing I told myself was that menieres is disabling when it happens but will only threaten my life if I continue in a straight line or in Newtons first law on motion.  It is an interesting observation from my point of view  I am now doing more of the things I have always wanted to do.

Lave your coment. Great approach. It is exactly how I want to handle it.

Last week I asked my bosses to change my time

schedule from 8 till 16 from 9 till 17 so could left early and get to club. Also, to avoid driving at dark. They was surprised that exercises so important to me. Why for people so difficult to

understand that exercises keeping me in life balance? It is not

just fiscal straight, it is also reduce stress. I can not allow to

myself to give up, if I do it , it will be no way back.
