Evidently I've had meniers almost 10 years an was just recently diagnosed this past week..i worked outside in power line construction for 30 years an the heat finally got the best of me and trying to work through it has put me where I'm at now ..applying for disability..im 53 an still had many years of work left ...i also lost my side business of 19 years ..so if your experiencing problems with the heat don't push through it no matter how small an episode just stop ..hydrate an get in the cool air..i have constant lightheadedness it never goes away so I have to adjust differently everyday an mornings are the worst for me..i have experienced 3 heat strokes and been treated 13 times for heat exhaustion in the last 8 years I pushed my body way to hard in the heat but working 10 to 20 hour shifts when power is out was expected an we enjoyed doing it I miss my job so think about losing everything an consider that because the heat will take it's till on you

Hi Bobby,
So sorry to hear about your diagnosis and how it has drastically changed your life. I am waiting for an ENT appointment, not sure what is going on with me, tinnitus, headaches, dizziness. I was Interested to hear you talk about heat. Is feeling hot part of the symptoms? I've gone to hate the warm weather it makes me feel ill. I always feel better once I've cooled down.

Hi jayn...the heat to me from what I've gathered so far is the hardest to handle for most people..the problem with that is doctors won't accept that heat is a major factor dealing with mineres...ive had 100s of episodes due to the heat I've had as many as 5 a day with vomiting on numerous occasions.. but ..no doctor I've seen will accept heat as the source that triggered all the episodes..they only believe I have blood pressure problems...so I suggest stop immediately at your 1st symptom ..hydrate constantly an get a recipe for a good healthy juice..an take minerals daily...and eat as much organic as possible...also find someone to talk to that knows mineres an what it's like if they don't understand your situation they can't help except to listen it's nice to get personal experience...good luck email or call ..bobby

Hi Bobby,
I've not been diagnosed with meniere's, waiting for ENT appointment. Body temperature is definitely something that's causing me problems though. I had to walk out of a restaurant recently because I was too warm which gave me a weird muzzy head feeling, it triggers anxiety also. I don't get room spinning but more of a weird heady feeling and slight dizziness that comes in waves and passes quickly, the weird muzzy head feeling is still there though. I get tinnitus 24/7, I think it's white noise tinnitus. My ear aches sometimes and tickles inside. For the first time it affected my driving recently, all of a sudden I felt as if my eyes were swaying, just for a couple of seconds and it passed. I had to pull over and I haven't driven since. I get dizzy if I turn onto my right side in bed so I sleep on my left side or back. I have early osteoarthritis in my neck also which could be something to do with my symptoms . I've had these symptoms for several weeks now but neck ache for nearly a year. You mentioned that you have had meniere's for 10 years. What symptoms did you have in those early years when you didn't realise you had meniere's? Many thanks for listening. No matter how much you read up about symptoms it's better to hear about people's experiences first hand, explains more than text books.

Hi jayn..i started unfortunately with all the symptoms you described an each doctor visit I was told it was bp an I went with that.well it got to where the symptoms went from 10-30 minutes to 1/2 a day.but I was working at least 12-15 hrs a day an more the weeks I'm on call and I pushed my body way to hard so be careful of that.. learn limitations an try to adjust with what you learn about what triggers it..the symptoms you describe are very scary I had 3 episodes between 1989 an 1997 ..now I know what it was ...i will be honest I'm not real sure what to do when it comes to the heat as far as your doctor...but I do know this your symptoms will increase if you don't monitor yourself like food intake an exercise but slowly an at home with somebody...if you havnt passed out yet then I hope you don't but if you feel it coming on have something in mind to think about something very positive an just relax..i know that sounds crazy but it helps because not much has ever scared me until now..

Hi again,
I live in the UK. I am used to cool weather but over recent months we have had warm spells and I've noticed that when this is so, I avoid going out because I cannot stand feeling warm, it makes me feel ill generally. I used to love hot weather on holidays abroad but I cannot stand the thought of it now. I've not made a connection with that and my ear\head symptoms before I read your post. I don't know whether I have meniere's but if you experienced the same symptoms as me in the early stages maybe I do have it. I get tired a lot also. I get a day or two when i feel like my old self and i think great, it's gone, but then it comes back. I don't get room spinning although I did experience this once several years ago but it passed and i put it down to stress. I will research menieres with regards to diet etc, maybe I will find a clue there. Thanks so much for your help.
Regards
Jayn
