Having given up work my advice would be to stay working as long as possible. Being at home is not the best for your mental state. I wish I had been able to continue with my job but I just couldn’t do it anymore. I didn’t give in to the M.D. I just accepted my life had changed. It’s a hard decision to make and benefits are not guaranteed. I got them for one year only and then told I was no longer eligible so it’s not straightforward. I am in the Uk so if you are in USA it may be different. Hope this helps

Try and hold out.  I had a Sac Decompression Revision in November because I wanted to continue to work.  I was having several episodes and was off work since August prior to surgery.  I had complications with the surgery and still off.  Let me tell you I’d much rather be at work than stuck in the house.  It’s been a financial strain, relationship strains.  Have you tried the steroid injections?  Do what you can to have a normal life because being off work is no fun.

I get where you're coming from Chip. It's such a strain that some days you just want to chuck it all. I'll get a panic attack if I let myself think too much or start to wallow in all the 'what ifs' and uncertainty. I'm still able to work, thank goodness but if I couldn't there would have to be something constructive I could do daily, however big or small. I believe we are all here for a reason bigger than ourselves and whatever that is for you, don't let it go. smile Like Bluesman said, hang in there and keep searching for how to make this work.

    All the best,
