Meniscus

I recently got a MRI on my knee came back as a complex tear of the body and posterior horn of the right medial meniscus. My ideal choice would be to try to save most  my meniscus with the repair method, trying to stitch it back up. What method would be more ideal for this type of injury?

Meniscus can heal on it's own, but I guess that depends on how complex the tear...my daughter had this issue and it seemed to heal on it's own.   Joy

I had tears on both legs and have had two arthrocopies, be guided by the surgeon. My knees were ok for a long time until arthritis set in.  As I say, be guided by the surgeon, he knows best. That is my opinion anyway. I hope this helps.

Cameron, I am assuming you have an appt with an orthopedic surgeon. I would be guided by his/her advice, and if it doesn't sit well with you get a second opinion.
