Menopausal Depression

i have been having episodes of depression where I cry uncontrollably about the mistakes I've made in my life and that I am not financially secure and I just don't want to live.  When I was just starting premenopausal I decided that I wanted to move to the coast which is an 8 hr drive from the rest of my family in which I have never lived more than an hour away.  I talked my husband into quieting the job he had been at for almost 20 yrs. now he can't find work and I was able to transfer here with my job. Anyway I have heard that B vitamins can help with my depression.  Does anyone know about this and is there a brand that has the right B vitamin ratios for me?

So sorry to hear this ! I know your not alone it's very common, B12 and B6 and the two to try, you are not allowed to name brands on here, but just search online for recommendations. Liquid Magnesium is also fantastic ! Good luck x

Yes vitamin b can help with depression but there is a side effect it can cause some people to have panic attacks on them. Try the vitamin b and if it does not work talk to your doctor about an antidepressant to help you but first try the vitamin b6 or b12 to see if this helps with your depression

Good luck and hang in there and your husband will find a job it takes time with the way the economy is now.

I already have anxiety. Attacks and take medication for it,  that has plagued me for years although I haven't had an attack in maybe a year.  I understand the Medes that you take for anxiety are also antidepressants. If the B vitamins can cause that I don't want to try as those attacks are very scary, mine have the symptoms of a heart attack, very scary....

Hi Rhonda, so sorry to hear that you are having these feelings. You don't say your age but I'm 57 and have been having these same thoughts. I try not to dwell, I know that I am a good person and my life means a lot to many. Pretty sure it's just this hormonal junk that goes with menopause. It sucks tho haha. One thing that has helped me is called Natural Calm. It comes in a powder and it is for restoring magnesium levels in our bodies. I swear it helps with anxiety, insomnia and the depression. Try it, I think it will help. Good luck and let me know if it helps you. Take Care of yourself and hubby, this too shall pass :-)
